About AKPIRC

The Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC) provides parents, families, educators, and communities with information and training as mandated by the Federal law No Child Left Behind (NCLB). Along with this we also are a resource for parents and schools to better understand the importance of parent involvement and what parent involvement is and looks like.

AKPIRC isn’t alone in this important work. We have partnered with the following school districts and agencies to help in our work:

Anchorage School District
Copper River School District

Yupiit School District
RurAL CAP
SERRC, Alaska's Educational Resource Center

The three school districts are implementing Language and Cultural Liaisons in their schools to help bridge communication between the school and families. RurAL CAP is implementing two Parents As Teachers (PAT) programs and is also the statewide coordinator for PAT.

SERRC is providing us with program staff and resources. For additional information about AKPIRC and our partners please explore our website. If you are unable to find what you are looking for, please contact us.
