Sara Keelan is the new Family Visitor for the Parents As Teachers
Program at Rural Cap. She brings 7 years of experience working with
children in a variety of childcare settings. She first realized her
passion to work with children while volunteering at a local preschool.
She began teaching preschool the following year and enjoyed every day of
it for 5 years. She then decided to take some time off and stay home for
a few years to start her own family. She worked with special needs
children through the Arc of Anchorage for 2 years prior to coming to
Rural Cap. She currently lives in Eagle River with her husband and two
children, ages 11 and 6. Sara is actively involved in her children's
education and believes that parents are their children's first and best
teachers.
