About the Anchorage School District
As the 89th largest school district in the country, the Anchorage School District (ASD) is diverse in its staff, students, and program offerings. Approximately 50,000 students attend ASD schools. They are taught by a well-qualified staff that sets high expectations and achieves great results.

ASD's student population reflects the rich cultural and ethnic diversity of the community. Anchorage is an educational, medical, and commercial hub for Alaska and is home to many Alaska Natives. Many immigrants from around the globe live in Anchorage and 93 different languages are spoken by district school children. Roughly 42 percent of students are from ethnic minority groups.

About the Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center Partnership
The Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC) grant is a partnerhsip among the Anchorage, Copper River, and Yupiit School Districts, Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC), and RurAL CAP.

Services are provided through SERRC, RurAL CAP's Parents as Teachers (PAT) program, the school district, and are connected to you by the Language and Cultural Liaison (LCL) in your school district.
