The Anchorage School District has an open enrollment policy, allowing students to attend schools outside their neighborhood if space is available and if parents provide transportation. (Open enrollment not available at schools during the first year of a boundary change.)

For Title I schools in Level 3 or higher school improvement status, the district will provide transportation to other schools.
