Copper River School District

About the Copper River School District
The Copper River School District is located within the Copper River Basin. The school district boundaries include approximately 23,100 square miles in the south central interior of Alaska.

Current school enrollment is about 532 students in grades K-12 at seven (7) locations plus correspondence students. Native Alaskans constitute around 25 percent of the student enrollment. The cultural aspects of a rather significant Alaska Native population, predominately Athabaskan, plays an important part in the area’s development.

About the Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center Partnership
The Alaska Parent Information and Resource Center (AKPIRC) grant is a network of joint services to support families from identified cultural groups within the Anchorage, Copper River, and Yupiit School Districts.

Services are provided through a partnership between the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC), RurAL CAP Parents as Teachers (PAT) program, and the school district, and are connected to you by the Language and Cultural Liaison (LCL) in your school district.
